Culture matters. We live in culture, create culture, and react to the culture around us because of our view of culture. At this year’s US Midwest Annual Conference, we are going to look at various aspects of culture both inside and outside of the church and reflect on how to plant churches that biblically engage culture.
From our speakers:
“If there’s one thing that our culture has a difficult time doing, it’s listening. Sometimes the best we’ve got is the willingness to listen in order to speak, but we rarely listen in order to hear and to understand. In order to be faithful to the call to make disciples, we must teach people to listen. Listening to the culture allows us to hear and understand their hopes, dreams, worries, and fears. When we understand those things, we have an opportunity to be witnesses to the good news of Jesus resurrection and renewal for the joy of His people and the glory of His name.” Kurt Hannah
“As a follower of The Lord Jesus, we must also prepare and face opposition and hostility from the culture for the Gospel’s sake. Hear discussion on how to endure the opposition that comes, while showing grace, hospitality, and boldly standing on The Gospel.” – Tyler St. Clair
