For Pete Rennie, training for ministry was a steady, shaping season. After sensing a call to plant, he joined Acts 29 for intentional development, where experienced leaders came alongside him to help form his vision for planting a church in Inverness, Scotland.

Pete received monthly guidance in the behind-the-scenes work of church planting. He learned to ground his vision in the gospel and to connect with Inverness’s unique culture. Instead of copying a system, he learned to ask important questions: What does it really take to prepare for this? What does this community need? How do we reach people who have never really heard the gospel?

His preparation went beyond just conversations. Pete attended Acts 29 gatherings and conferences that sharpened his thinking and connected him to a wider network of church planters worldwide. These relationships became a vital source of encouragement and provision, reminding him he was not alone in the work.

Looking back, Pete sees that season of training as foundational. It gave him clarity, resilience, and a framework for long-term ministry. He learned not only how to plant a church but how to build something that could one day train and send others.

Last fall, Living Hope Inverness celebrated its 10-year anniversary. Earlier this year, the church secured a historic building in the heart of Inverness, anchoring them for years to come as they make disciples in Scotland.
