G’day, I’m Andrew Lawrence. I live in Bundaberg, a small rural city on the east coast of Queensland, Australia. I was born, raised and have lived in the district for 36 years. I have been so blessed to have been born into a loving Christian family that has a long Christian heritage. 15 years ago, I married my wife Amy and we have been blessed with 3 children.
About the Church:
Bundaberg Bible Chapel has been established for something like 60 years. Over those years the church has outgrown two buildings. We currently see our next move to be one of church planting. Our purpose is to evangelise the community, establish the church, and equip the Christian.
About the Community:
I work for Burnett youth learning centre — a ministry of our church. We work with disengaged youth and seek to show students a Christ-like love that they may not have experienced before. Bundaberg has a large population of disengaged and long-term unemployed people. We have been working with many of these families for years but fall short of engaging them with the gospel or church. I’m thankful for this apprenticeship to become better equipped to engage with these families for the sake of the gospel
- For my family as I go into this apprenticeship, that I juggle family, work and church responsibilities well.
- That our church family will seek to be on this journey with me as we follow the Lord into this next step of becoming a church that plants churches.
- That the Lord would open people’s eyes to the truth of the gospel when they see it in action and that we get the opportunity to speak it.
