My wife, Brooke, and I have been married for 10 years and we have two children, Bailey Rae and Pierre. Before moving to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia we lived in Southern California where I worked as a primary therapist in a residential mental health facility and lead the biblical counseling ministry of my local church.
About the Church:
I am now part of small team who are partnering to plant a church near Kuala Lumpur city center. We have been given a church building and are hoping to begin meeting as a local church by the end of 2019.
About the Community:
The church building we have been given is two blocks from Chow Kit, which is a neighborhood known for high crime rates and homelessness. Kuala Lumpur is a beautifully multi-ethnic city roughly consisting of 45% Malay, 43% Chinese, 10% Indian as well as a significant population of refugees and asylum seekers. The city has a long and complicated history of ethnic division and conflict and there is a deep need for gospel preaching churches who are engaged in their surrounding communities.
- For maturing gospel expression in our day-to-day interpersonal lives.
- For wisdom, sensitivity and discernment as we navigate a complicated multi-ethnic and religious community.
- For a unified planting team who long to encourage and refresh one another.
