I am Carlos Bruno, from Mozambique, Africa. I am 30 years old, married to Josefina Bruno, and we have a boy, Jedidias Bruno. Growing up, my family believed in their ancestors that they may protect, guide and bless them. Later my father became a Christian and invited me to church in 2006. I heard of the love of God and I could not resist; on that day I repented from sin and believed in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I am now pastoring the church of the Lord Jesus Christ at União Sagrada de Moçambique, in a small suburban community called Sikwama – Matola.
About the Church:
The church began in 2005 in a poor community in Matola. I was assistant to Pastor Fernando, but later I became the Senior Pastor. Today the church has leadership and people are growing in God’s grace and knowledge. We would now like to plant a church at Djonasse – Matola. In this place there is a lot of poverty and no evangelical church. It’s a good opportunity to obey the Lord’s commission.
About the Community:
Matola is a suburban community where traditional religion, prosperity gospel and Islam are dominant. The community is very poor, with high levels of prostitution, young people involved in drugs, child orphans and many vulnerable people. Djonasse is an especially poor farming community with no Evangelical churches.
- As a servant of the Lord Jesus, may the Lord help me to keep the gospel; to proclaim the gospel as a herald and defend the gospel as a lawyer.
- May the church understand their identity, mission, message and be firm in the promises of the Lord Jesus to be influential in the community, to fulfill the great commission.
- May the Holy Spirit open the hearts of people to see and turn back to the true and the living God.
