I am Tendayi Patrick Ngoma I come from Malawi, central Africa. I am married to Edith and we are blessed with 3 kids. I am a church planter by the grace of God and we are serving God at Chitukula village, one of the villages in Lilongwe District in the central region of Malawi.
About the Church:
The church is about 2 years old and has a membership of about 120 from the villages close by. Our vision is to reach out to the local people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are meeting in a school, however we have bought land to build a permanent church building. If finances are available we will build in the next six months. We are also trusting God for planting more healthy churches.
About the Community:
This community is mostly dominated by the Chewa people. 90% of the villagers live under $1 per day. They depend on farming to survive. The unemployment rate is high because most of the young people are uneducated. They marry early which leads to unhealthy marriages. Stealing, polygamy, drunkenness and sexual immorality are all affecting lives, as well as the AIDS pandemic. This has led to many orphans and widows. Most children suffer malnutrition because of inadequate food and malaria, and taking the right precautions to prevent disease is a challenge.
- For God to give me grace to reach many local people and for him to sustain my family and meet our daily needs – including reliable means of transport to travel around the villages for ministry.
- For the spiritual and numerical growth of the church members, for finances for our church building and for resources as we feed Sunday School children every week.
- For salvation for the community as well as healing to those who are sick with different diseases, and improvement of living standards.
