Costa Blanca 2020 | Europe Conference
Conference Cancelled

Update: 12 March 2020

With the Acts 29 Europe conference in Costa Blanca a little more than two months away, preparations have been ongoing and we were fully committed to the conference taking place. We have been keeping a close eye on the progression and spread of COVID-19 and are aware the people are becoming increasingly nervous about travelling.

The situation in Europe is worsening and we have been informed by the hotel earlier today that they are closing the hotel, at least until the end of May. This leaves us without a venue to host the Acts 29 Europe conference. Despite the hotel’s announcement, the increasing number of countries imposing travel bans means that in all likelihood we would have been forced to postpone or cancel the conference at some point in the near future.

Our sincere hope is that the COVID-19 situation will improve very soon and that rescheduling of our conference might be possible. We will keep you posted via email and social media.

18-20 May 2020

These evocative words come towards the end of Paul’s letter to the Romans. He wanted to go to Spain to plant churches and he wanted to pass through Rome so that the church in that city could provide him with help for the journey (Romans 15:24). This help would involve spiritual, personal, financial and human resources. It would be holistic help.

We don’t know for sure if Paul ever made it to Spain, the ends of the earth as far as he was concerned. But we have inherited his mission, and we, too, need help for the journey in our beautiful and difficult continent. So that is why Acts 29 Europe will be gathering in Costa Blanca, Spain in May 2020. We want to provide help for all church-planters on their church-planting journey. We want to connect, inspire, inform, mobilise, resource and equip planters, teams and church-planting churches across our continent. We want each person present to be helped and to be a help to others.

This conference is for all who want to help and be helped on the journey – church-planters, church leaders, church members. The best way to get maximum benefit is to come with a group of people from your church and to discuss and debate how the content and tools that we deliver can be practically applied to your context.

Our speakers and equippers will be drawn from your practitioners and leaders in Europe. Among them will be Philip Moore, Reuben Hunter, Tomas Henzel and Andy Prime.

Getting to the hotel

Q. Where is the nearest airport?

The nearest airport is Alicante. Many low-cost airlines and European holiday operators fly to this destination. Here is a list.

Q. How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

The journey by car is 40 minutes. Nearer the time, we will let you know about how you can book a place on a shuttle bus. We will arrange these during the main arrival and departure times. At all other times, there are taxis and an airport bus leaving every 15 min going to Benidorm. From there you will need to take a taxi (ca. 10€).

Q. How much does the conference cost?

Conference Fee + (‘room choice’ multiplied by the ‘number of nights’) + transaction fees = Final Cost

EXAMPLE: You are staying for the full conference, arriving on Monday and leaving on Wednesday and you want the cheapest room.

  • €135 Conference Registration Fee
  • €8.03 Brushfire and Payment processing fees
  • €90 2 nights in a room sharing with 2 others
  • €233.03 TOTAL COST

Q. Is there an early-bird rate?

No – this year we have tried to keep the rates as low as possible for everyone. However space is limited, so don’t leave it too late to book.

Q. What is included in the conference registration fee?

The Conference fee, per person, includes all meals and breaks (2 lunches, 2 dinners, coffee breaks) during the main conference. The first meal is dinner on Monday evening and the last meal is lunch on Wednesday.

It also includes the hire of the public spaces and main meeting room, expenses for A/V equipment hire, extra costs, subsidies, exclusive use of the facilities…

Q. What are the room choices available?

  1. €45 Triple Room sharing, per person, per night
  2. €58 Twin Room sharing, per person, per night
  3. €58 Double Room sharing, per person, per night
  4. €100 Single Room, per person, per night

Q. Is breakfast included in my room booking?

For every night you book a room you also get breakfast included the next day.

Q. Can I come a few days early or stay a few days late and what will it cost?

Yes, when you register you will be asked for your arrival and departure dates. The same room prices that we have locked in for the conference also apply before and after the conference and they include breakfast. We will pass this information on to the hotel.

Q. What if I don’t have a credit card or my card doesn’t work?

A. Our preferred payment method is per credit card. You may also pay by bank transfer. The details you need are as follows:

  • IBAN: FR76 1870 6000 0097 5060 7287 923
  • BIC / Swift: AGRIFRPP887
  • Account holder: Actes 29 Connexion
  • Purpose: <your full name> – Costa Blanca Conference

Your place will not be booked until you have made full payment. If neither of these payment methods works for you, then please contact us to discuss alternatives. All payments must be made before arrival. We do not accept payment by cash.

Q. Can I just book for the conference but stay in a cheaper hotel nearby?

No, the whole concept for the conference is for us to be together in one place for a 48 hr period once every two years. We dont want anybody to miss out on any part of it.

Q. I just want to come for one day – can I get a day ticket?

No, we would encourage you to come for the whole conference.

Q. Where are the prices for children?

We do not offer childcare at this conference. At previous conferences young children were not present. If you have a special request in this regard, please do get in touch.

What is your cancellation policy?

A full refund will be given for bookings cancelled before 18 March. Bookings cancelled between 19 March – 18 April will be given a 50% refund. Any cancellations made after 18 April cannot be refunded but the option will be given to ‘donate’ your ticket to someone else. All cancellations will incur a 10 € admin fee.

Pre-conference Retreat for Acts 29 Members and Candidates

Q. I’m an Acts 29- Member/Candidate, am I supposed to come a day earlier?

Yes, we are asking all members and candidates to arrive on Sunday, so we can spend 24hrs together on retreat. This will be a mixture of time to relax as well as a chance to share and ask questions.

You can arrive anytime throughout the day. You can check in to your room after 3 pm. The first organised event will be a get together at 5 pm.

Exhibiting at the conference

Q. Is it possible for our organisation to have a stand/booth at the conference?

We will allow a small number of exhibitors to have a stand at our conference. If you believe that you have something to share that could be a valuable resource for church-planters in Europe and you are in agreement with the core values of Acts 29, please send your request to
