The role of Music Director would vary based upon skills and what the applicant can bring. At minimum, the desire is to lead the church in worship through music, every Sunday morning. The music will be a blend of old hymns as well as new songs as well. All songs have to go through the filter of being:
1) Theologically accurate. The songs must reflect what is true about God and make the gospel known.
2) Congregational. The congregation must be able to sing the song. Meaning, the song is not too difficult to sing or is not played in a key too hard for the church to participate in.
3) Done well. We want to work “as if we are working for the Lord.” (Col. 3:23) Meaning, we want to do well and give our best. If the song cannot be played well, then we move on to find songs that we can do well.
