“An Acts 29 church changed my life.” – Joey Presutti, church planter in Florida

When Joey Presutti first walked into The Crossing Church, an Acts 29 church in Jacksonville, his life was unraveling. A successful trial lawyer on the verge of divorce, Joey found grace, discipleship, and a new trajectory. Through the faithful ministry of The Crossing, God transformed his life and eventually called him to plant Gather Church in St. Johns, Florida.

Gather Church launched in January and is already experiencing remarkable momentum, averaging over 200 in weekly attendance, with nearly 100 kids. Meeting in a local school’s cafetorium, the church is quickly outgrowing its space.

St. Johns is the wealthiest county in Florida, a place where families have every comfort but often lack real connection. Gather Church is meeting that need through authenticity and community. Their motto, “We gather beyond Sundays,” drives small groups, surf meetups, and women’s book clubs—all designed to help people move past surface-level conversations and find gospel-rooted relationships.

Joey asks for prayer in three key areas: for wisdom as the church navigates rapid growth, for deep community to form among new believers, and for the church to love the next generation well—that children and students would know and follow Jesus.

Acts 29 churches around the world are faithfully sharing the gospel every day, reaching men and women like Joey whose lives are being transformed by God’s grace. And just as Joey was discipled and felt the call to plant Gather Church, there are countless others who may become the next church planters—leaders who will carry the good news into news into new neighborhoods, cities, and nations. This is why we plant churches worldwide.
