Since 2017, Generations Church in Norcross, Georgia, has partnered with Acts 29 churches in Colombia.
The partnership began when lead pastor James Rowell traveled to Colombia and quickly formed a friendship with Edison Flórez, lead pastor of Iglesia Reformada Calvary. On later visits, Edison introduced James to other Acts 29 churches across the country. Those relationships have grown into three thriving global church-to-church partnerships in Colombia today.
Why Colombia? Missions Pastor Scottie Finlayson says, “The Lord has awakened a hunger in Colombia for Reformed theology and healthy, biblical churches.” He adds, “It’s been amazing for us to witness and play a small role by supporting churches that are laboring in this harvest at the ground level.”
Over the years, Generations Church has sent teams to serve alongside these churches. Scottie says the trips have “grown their hearts for the Great Commission” and inspired some members to step into missions leadership at the church, praying for the Colombian churches, connecting with them regularly, and advocating for them back in Georgia.
