Matias once claimed he didn’t believe in God. Yet, in moments of deep trial, he found himself crying out to the very God he denied.
God answered by placing a family from Iglesia Bautista Adulam in his path. They welcomed Matias into their lives, invited him to church, and patiently helped him wrestle with his questions. They showed him why he felt empty and adrift—and how the gospel alone could fill that void.
As Matias encountered God’s Word, the pieces began to fit together. He learned that the ache in his heart could only be satisfied through a relationship with Jesus—the One who is the way, the truth, and the life.
One evening in prayer, as Matias reflected on Christ’s sacrifice, a knot swelled in his chest, and he found himself sobbing. He confessed his sins, including years of denying God. In that moment, the burden lifted. “I felt embraced. I felt saved—it’s hard to put into words, but it was something heavenly,” he recalls. For the first time in years, his heart was at peace.
Today, Matias is living out his new faith, a testimony to the life-transforming power of Jesus. His story reflects what is happening through Acts 29 churches worldwide—men and women encountering the gospel, finding true hope, and stepping into new life in Christ.
