Who is Acts 29 US West?

Acts 29 US West exists to multiply church planting churches across twelve Western States. We are one of 11 networks that make up the diverse, global family of Acts 29. The US West network is built on seven distinctives: Assessing, Training, Coaching, Renewal, Funding, Multiplying, and Support.

The geographically vast Western United States is home to 77 million people. Large cities are often separated by hundreds of miles of desert, mountains or farmland. The West has a storied history of immigration, cultural diversity, and frontier settlement. Bordered by the Pacific Ocean, Canada, and Mexico, the western US is diverse, shaped by a variety of ethnic groups.

The Western US is largely unchurched; in many cities within our network, fewer than 5-10% of the population claim to be Christian. We believe that thousands of churches are needed in these twelve states to proclaim the gospel, and our network wants to be part of that. Every church in our network contributes to and participates in planting churches together.

The twelves states in our network are as follows:

  • Arizona
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Idaho
  • Hawaii
  • Montana
  • Nevada
  • New Mexico
  • Oregon
  • Utah
  • Washington
  • Wyoming

We believe that church planting is a Biblical mandate.

When Jesus gave us ‘The Great Commission’ (Matthew 28: 18-20), the call was to make disciples, not simply to convert people. Traditional evangelism has often been concerned only with “decisions for Christ,” but without on-going discipleship, these decisions are not true life conversions. We believe that the local church provides the shepherding community that is vital to true conversions and discipleship. As missiologist C. Peter Wagner said, “Planting new churches is the most effective evangelistic methodology known under heaven.”

For more information, read Dr. Tim Keller’s ‘Why Plant Churches.’

Our goal is for all church plants in the Western US to be healthy, established church-planting churches.

If you are looking to plant a church and desire help and support along that journey, or if you are an existing church that desires to be more deeply involved in church planting, Acts 29 US West may be for you! As a member of our network, you would receive support, training, coaching, and a group of like-minded pastors and churches of which to be a part. The process to join our network follows the Acts 29 assessment process of application, interview, assessment and candidacy. We want to help set you up for success, both at the outset and throughout your journey. Select the appropriate button below to begin your journey to join Acts 29 US West today!
