TITLE: Youth Director
TYPE OF POSITION: Full time (40 hours) or Part time (20–25 hours)
Overview/Summary
The Youth Director shepherds students to behold Jesus, become like Him, and display His glory in their unique season of life. This leader builds a Christ-centered, fun, and spiritually formative environment for junior high and high school students while equipping leaders and parents to do the same.
Whether part-time or full-time, this role prioritizes relational ministry and gospel formation. It requires a deep love for students, a passion for discipleship, an evangelistic gifting, and a desire to raise up the next
generation of leaders in the church.
Responsibilities/Expectations
Weekly Youth Gatherings
● Plan and lead youth group gatherings that are relational, relevant, and rooted in Scripture
● Teach the Bible in a way that is engaging, theologically rich, and applicable
● Create rhythms for worship, prayer, discipleship, and student leadership
Student Discipleship
● Build relationships with students through presence, mentoring, and follow-up
● Create opportunities for students to serve, grow, and lead
● Develop a strategy to shepherd students into greater maturity in Christ
Parent Partnership
● Communicate regularly and meaningfully with parents
● Equip and partner with parents to disciple their kids
Leader Development
● Recruit, train, and care for a team of youth leaders
● Foster a culture of shared leadership, spiritual growth, and safety
● Provide direction and support for youth leaders on Sundays and during events
Events & Integration
● Plan and lead events, retreats, and service projects
● Help students and their families integrate into the larger church body through Sunday gatherings, serve teams, and gospel communities
General Pastoral Leadership (Full-time only)
● Preach and teach occasionally in broader church contexts
● Collaborate with pastoral team on strategy, care, and discipleship pathways
Personal Development
● Meet with key leaders inside and outside of Imago Dei for development and growth.
● Read and write – Soak in books, articles, blog posts, etc. about discipleship, life with Jesus, student ministry, leadership, etc.
● Care for your soul. Stay qualified! Let’s run the race to the end with our eyes on Jesus.
Note: Part-time roles will focus primarily on student discipleship, leader development, and youth gatherings, with full-time roles expanding to include more pastoral and strategic responsibilities across the
church.
Hours & Pay:
● Full-time Youth Director: 40 hours, $23-28/hour
● Part-time Youth Director: 20-25 hours, $20-23/hour
