On Tuesday, August 4th, in what appears to have been a tragic accident, a massive explosion occurred in Beirut, Lebanon. More than one hundred were killed in the blast, and thousands more were wounded. The catastrophic effects of the incident will impact Lebanon for many years.Planted in Beirut in 2018, City Bible Church (CBC) is a member of Acts 29’s global family of churches. The blast destroyed CBC’s building, but they are still ministering amid this chaos.
We invite you to pray for Beirut and Lebanon. Pray for an end to trials experienced by the Lebanese people and the 1.7 million refugees residing there. Pray for the gospel to move forward in power. Pray specifically for City Bible Church as they mobilize care, act with compassion, and proclaim Christ with boldness.
On August 6, Acts 29’s Emerging Regions Network established the Beirut Relief Fund as a way to partner with City Bible Church in their rebuilding and relief efforts among their neighbors and city. In just five short days, we surpassed our goal of $50,000, raising more than $150,000! Praise God!
Though the initial goal amount has been met, you can still give to the Beirut Relief Fund below for needed assistance with immediate and long-term disaster relief as well as long-term ministry opportunities in Beirut. The disbursement of these funds is being overseen by a council of leaders from across Acts 29 for accountability and good stewardship.
We also encourage you to consider supporting all of the gospel efforts currently occurring through local churches in the global family by Acts 29 by giving at acts29.com/give.
