WHY PLANT WITH ACTS 29

Planting a church is a challenging task. Acts 29 supports the local church as it identifies, raises up and sends out new church plants, helping them grow into healthy churches that go on to plant more churches. This process starts with assessment.

THE COMMITMENT YOU’RE MAKING

THE LEADERSHIP OF ACTS 29 IS COMMITTED TO THE FOLLOWING:

1. Promoting Awareness

Promoting awareness of church planting as a primary missional strategy amongst church leaders, church members, and other groups and denominations. We aim to make church planting accessible and achievable for those who may not have considered it before or thought it possible.

2. Connecting People

Facilitating and catalyzing the formation of links, relationships, and alliances amongst like-minded churches, groups, and individuals that enable new planting projects to form and flourish.

3. Equipping Churches

Providing training, tools, and coaching that equips leaders and their teams as they prepare, launch, and sustain healthy, multiplying churches.

4. Pursuing Diversity

Developing culture, leadership, resources, and practices, which embrace and serve a diverse constituency without compromising our theological distinctives.

5. Reaching Globally

Building strong, healthy networks across all continents, which facilitate the building of relationships between churches of different languages and cultures.

AS AN ACTS 29 CHURCH, THE ELDERS OF OUR CHURCH ARE COMMITTED TO INVESTING IN ACTS 29 THROUGH:

1. Theological Integrity

2. Network Participation

  • To the best of our ability and as the opportunity arises, we agree to participate with our local area, region, a lead pastor cohort, church-to-church partnerships, and Acts 29 churches globally.

3. Financial Commitment

  • We commit to allocating 10% of general offerings to church planting.
  • Of that 10%, a certain percentage shall be given directly to Acts 29, determined by each Acts 29 global region individually.
  • We will invest the remaining 8% in the planting of churches around the world, with preference given to Acts 29 churches when possible.
  • We will endeavor to establish a partnership with at least one Acts 29 church locally and one in another country.

4. Relational Unity

  • We wholeheartedly agree to partner with Acts 29 to plant churches worldwide.
  • We will serve other Acts 29 churches, primarily but not exclusively in our region, through practical fellowship and prayer.
  • We will resolve differences by assuming the best of each other and asking clarifying questions before drawing conclusions.
  • We will model grace, generosity, and biblical conflict resolution in the ways that we speak of Acts 29 leadership and other churches within Acts 29.
